COBRAS END 2024 IN AN OVERTIME CLASSIC
In an overtime classic, the Cleveland Cobras would fall to the WPA Wildcatz in week one of the 2024 TPFL playoffs by a score of 22-20.
The Cobras would get on the scoreboard first by way of a Marvin Germany 5 yard TD reception from David "Slap" Thompson.
Trailing 14-7 after halftime, Kam McCauley, who arguably put on an MVP performance, would pick off a Wildcat pass and return it 47 yards to the endzone. Ben Lyons would make it a tie game with the extra point.
The overtime period would start 14-14 with the Wildcat offense getting into the endzone on a two yard run. WPA would add the two point conversion.
The Cobras made the best of their possession when Slap Thompson would find Emmette Calhoun on a 24 yard TD pass, however, Cleveland would fail on the two point conversion bringing an end to the 2024 campaign.
The Cobras finish the 2024 season with a 4-5 record. The WPA Wildcatz improved to 5-4 and will move on to week two in the TPFL playoffs.
